What happens to what you write.
eibla is a journal about your work, so it's built to keep that work private. Here's exactly where your words go, in plain terms.
Your journal stays in your browser
Everything you write is stored in this browser, on this device. There's no account for your journal and no copy of it on a server.
That also means clearing your browser's data for eibla deletes the journal. Settings → Download everything saves a copy, and Settings → Restore from a download brings it back. For now, each browser keeps its own journal; backup across devices is on the way.
Nothing you write is sent anywhere
Updates, reviews and CVs are put together on your device from your own entries. There's no account, and no server holding your journal. The app loads from our web host like any website, but what you write never goes back to it.
What you paste in, like review questions or a job ad, stays on your device too.
Anonymous visit counts
So we can tell whether eibla is working for people, the app sends a small note at most once a day: that someone opened it, whether they're new or returning, the week they started, phone or computer, whether it's installed, roughly how many entries they have, and what kind of draft they made. Notes go to our database provider, Supabase.
A note has no ID or cookie in it and nothing from your journal, so it can't be linked to you. Switch it off in Settings, and it also stays off if your browser asks sites not to share data.
No ads, no trackers
Neither this site nor the app shows ads, sets cookies or follows you around the web. The app remembers a few small things in your browser, like light or dark, and which daily notes it has already sent.
